Electricity is a need and must for the social beings for day to day activities. The heavy consumption of electricity by social beings leads to decrement of non-renewable resources like coal, water, and many more which are used to generate electricity. The generation of electricity using non-renewable resources also cause severe environmental pollution. So, an alternative renewable source of solar electricity generation is designed to meet the electricity requirements of TAMUK. While designing, factors like battery backup, loss of power during construction and maintenance of the solar power plant are considered to make the design more effective. The area of the designed solar panels were calculated, and the possible locations were identified using ArcGIS 10.1 software. NLP is used to find the most suitable location using optimization techniques. While optimizing, the coordinates of the restricted area and the distance from the respective restricted area to the location are used and formulae are tabulated to find the location which is suitable to setup solar power plant to meet the electricity requirements of TAMUK.
